Ten years ago we became homeowners when we were referred to Emory by a different agent we found on Yelp. He helped us navigate the housing landscape in Los Angeles to get us into our first home, a condo, which was perfect for us. For ten years we lived there until we decided we wanted to get into a single family home. We decided to hit Emory up again, seeing if he was still an agent, or if he could refer us to one. Not only was he still doing real estate, he was able to get us into our new home in less than 60 days from contact with him. He got the asking price, all cash, on our old place and got us under asking on the new place. It had to be some sorcery now that I think about it. I don't ever want to move again, but if I did, I know the agent I'm going to be calling, and will be referring all my friends to him without hesitation.
This review is long overdue! My family has known Emory for almost 10 years. Emory was originally referred to me by a friend, as I was looking to find a condo in downtown Los Angeles while attending graduate school. Not only did Emory help us find the perfect condo but he also helped us with purchasing four other properties (from Playa Vista all the way to Santa Clarita) over the last few years. Whether you are purchasing/selling/leasing... Emory is your guy. He is not one to push or pressure - he has a calming presence, regardless of any challenges that may arise during the process. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and reliable. Most importantly, he's honest. We've had brief encounters with other agents in the past and it's just not the same experience. Emory goes above and beyond. We are so grateful to have found an agent who has our best interest at all times. Emory is like family to us - we refer him all the time and we wouldn't want to work with anyone else!
Emory sold our investment property in Brentwood. He is pleasant, honest, professional and very easy to deal with. He knows the market and my wife & I are happy that we listed the property with him. We highly recommend him. Emory, Thank you for all your hard work and everything that you did for us.
We were recommended by colleagues to look for Emory, and he was absolutely wonderful to work with. We were considering both buying a townhouse/condo or a single family house, and he never pressured us towards buying the higher priced option despite the fact that it would mean a lot more commission for him. Throughout the whole process, he put us at ease by explaining everything and answering all our questions, and always replying to any emails or phone calls promptly. Each Sunday, he would compile a list of the places we were interested in, work out a good route for touring the list of open houses, and take us around to see them all. He would provide insight to how the neighbourhood was, how the place was and how the market/price was. Being a first time home buyer, I was very anxious throughout the escrow process, but Emory was there to help with everything. He was also always punctual whenever we were to meet. If/When we are to buy or sell another place in the area in the future, we would definitely go to Emory again. Highly recommend.
I can't say enough great things about Emory. I'll start by saying I found Emory by accident. After meeting with several other realtors, I found a couple of them smarmy (to say the least)... trying to pressure me into signing with them on the spot without anything more than just a short 10 minute conversation. Feeling a little defeated from these encounters, I happened to pass by RE/MAX on my way back home, so I stopped in to have yet another conversation with a realtor. Right away, Emory was personable and put me at ease about my options. We just sat and chatted, and Emory answered all my questions and provided me with answers to questions that I didn't even think to ask. I felt immediately comfortable with him, but chose to not sign immediately just in case. There was no pressure from him. Even after meeting with some other realtors, none of them I met gave me the same honest and trustworthy vibe. When it came to staging and setting up the open house, Emory was on top of everything. He knows the Westside... not only as a knowledgable realtor but as a Westsider. When it came to pricing, he helped me price it just right... not too aggressive and certainly not a lowball number hoping to generate a potential bidding war to raise the price. He helped ensure that I had successful open houses and secure offers to quickly sell my home. I even threw a curve ball and told him I had planned on leaving the state before the sale of my condo, and he assured me that I'd have no difficulties trying to sell even though I wouldn't be in CA. Emory was in constant communication (text/email/phone) and kept me apprised of every potential or actual issue. He gave sound advice whenever it was needed, but let me make the decisions. When escrow was going to go longer, he immediately let me know and had a plan of action on how to remedy things. Emory made the entire selling process simple and smooth even when most people I know find the whole process frustrating. I'll definitely be referring/recommending Emory to anyone I know that needs a realtor. I just hope my next realtor will be equally as easy to work with.
Emory was terrific in every way. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the market and his insights were very helpful as we considered possible condos. We looked at many condos before we found one we liked and he was always supportive of our decision to keep looking. Emory was always responsive, responding to emails very quickly, and this ability of his and the manner in which he works was critical when we finally made an offer. We were able to respond to a bidding war quickly because Emory is so responsive. Additionally, a selling broker said one of the reasons our offer was accepted was because they liked dealing with Emory, who was responsive and a great guy. After looking at a number of condos, we finally found one we loved and we are thrilled with our acquisition. Emory was critical to making that happen. We were particularly impressed since we did not know Emory when he began working with us and we were buying in LA while living on the east coast. During the whole time we looked, despite being out of town buyers, Emory made us feel like we were his more important client. We cannot say enough about how happy we were working with him and how lucky we felt to have found him.
I’ll always remember Emory Donelson as someone who made my dream house my real home. He was referred to me by the other agent who dealt with the sale of my triplex. As my agent, Emory’s intelligence and easy mannered ways ruled but he also appropriately responded to my occasional anxious, neurotic requests or queries. He was understanding of my desire to coordinate the home purchase with the sale that at times became overwhelming to me but his even tempered ways managed to keep me collected in general. I began the search with several different notions of what I was looking for (different areas as well as condos in the mix) and he readily accompanied me until it became clear to me what I was I looking for after all. The entire house-hunting process was as smooth as possible as I preferred to do homework by giving Emory a list of places to search that he then mapped out with the logical place to meet and I would follow him from place to place, which we persisted for over a month. We placed numerous offers, many that grew into a bidding war out of my price range and couple of others that I ended up cancelling after inspection until this dream house all of a sudden became a reality. I sold my triplex and gave my keys to the new owners and after a short escrow, I got the keys to my new property. In short, Emory negotiated this deal perfectly.
Emory is a rockstar relator. He guided us through the home buying process in a way that made us feel comfortable at every step. This was my second time buying a home and Emory was such an advocate for our needs. He pushed the seller's agent hard and got us everything we wanted. And when the seller was playing games, Emory stepped and shielded us from them. I highly recommend Emory to anybody looking to buy a home in Los Angeles. He's knowledgable, hard-working and just a good all-around guy. Thanks for everything Emory!
Emory was a wonderful realtor who always had my best interest in mind. He was very patient with my ever changing housing needs and went above and beyond to help fix an issue that we had with the appraisal and loan. I will definitely be recommending him to friends.
I think I lucked out finding Emory! He is a real professional & wonderful to work with. He helped me through the process of purchasing my new home. He is very knowledgeable of the market. He addressed any concerns I had promptly, easily and with in-depth, clear explanations. He was always mindful as to what I was looking for, is very thorough, has good perception and a realistic idea of what you're up against with any property--which I found extremely helpful. Also, his resilient attitude helped me stay persistent in my search. I've worked with other agents before on former properties & didn't get nearly the same experience. I am very happy with everything this time around. Honestly, I can't say enough great things about him... With Emory, you will be working with one of the best!
Emory recently helped us through the process of buying a condo. We could not be happier with the result. Emory is a great communicator and knowledgeable realtor. He really knows the current market. We submitted one of five bids on the home and his instinct and recommendations helped us bid the right amount without going out of our comfort zone. Throughout the entire process, whenever I sent him a message via voicemail, email, or text, he responded almost immediately. He has excellent negotiation skills and fought for us when needed. He is insightful, carefully reviews all documents, and gives honest and detailed feedback. He is also a very nice person. I recommend Emory without hesitation!
When I first met with Emory, I was initially impressed with his vast knowledge of my area in Los Angeles, Van Nuys/ Sherman Oaks. In our initial meeting it was obvious that Emory had done his research; he came to the table with a very well thought out plan on to go about listing and selling my condo. Emory had a very clear idea and a specific target marketing approach to reach serious buyers and bring focus to my property. The process was fast. We listed my condo on a Monday morning and accepted a full price offer by that afternoon. The credit goes to Emory, his clear vision, targeted approach, and execution made the process incredibly easy for this first time seller. Emory was there every step of the way from offer acceptance to final closure with guidance and support. I will definitely be using Emory again in any future real estate transactions.
Emory is a hero. He helped me identify the highest possible (while remaining aligned with the market) list price and delivered a qualified and motivated buyer. My house sold at list price, and Emory did a great job during escrow. He managed expectations with the buyer, their agent, and me. He kept us on our timeline, and managed the process with grace and professionalism. I'm a huge fan of his style, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.
Emory helped us successfully purchase an incredible home in Woodland Hills. He was patient, very flexible, and super quick to respond to our questions, even though as relatively uninformed buyers we had a lot to ask. He’s a personable, competent and confident guy and my wife and I felt comfortable with him immediately. We were prepared for a long search, but unexpectedly came across our dream home after viewing just a few others. Emory gave great advice as far as our offer went- he was very knowledgeable about what would make our offer stand out in an extremely challenging market. He helped us view the place several times, get it pre-inspected, get our mortgage details in order, put the offer together, and beat out three other offers, all in less than a week. This was my first home buying experience, and Emory made it as anxiety- free as possible.
Emory was totally professional and responsible in representing a sale of our property recently. He took care of every detail including necessary repairs, especially since we live out of state. He was always prompt in his responses to texts and emails. We were very blessed to have him as our agent and whoever works with him will be blessed as well.
I found Emory based on the recommendation of a coworker and am very glad I chose him as my agent. Emory was a pleasure to work with. Even though the real estate process can be stressful and frustrating, Emory always kept a calm approach. He was available any time I needed anything. I appreciated that he was always honest about the properties we visited, including steering me away from some properties with a bigger price tag.
I'm very happy with the sale of my home thanks to Emory. Just a few highlights of my experience with him: - Very honest, responsive, with a no pressure vibe - Helped price our home "just right". Not too aggressive, not too conservative. Just enough to let the market drive up the sale price! - Final sale was higher than asking price! - Had a great showing at open house. One was all it took to get multiple offers! - Negotiated and fought on our behalf - Overall, a very smooth transaction all the way through closing Emory is very experienced, tactful, and highly professional. Excellent real estate agent and highly recommend!
I was a first time homebuyer, single woman, and had been on the search for a condo for 1.5 years before meeting Emory. I'm so thankful that I found him, because I am now happily writing this from my new home! Emory is clear, responsive, patient, knowledgable, friendly yet always professional, tells it to you straight, and is aggressive enough during negotiations to close the deal. I recommend him wholeheartedly!
A few months ago I came to the conclusion that I needed to buy a place and that is where I came to know Emory. Everybody knows the obstacles in buying a place and its ridiculous. Emory looks out for you and the one important thing about the guy that is noteworthy is that he is honest. With that said, you don't have to worry about getting stabbed in the back and left stranded with a bad deal. He found me my dream condo and I can finally say goodbye to landlords and their headaches. Superb experience all around and I will be turning to him for my next purchase.
I wish I can give Emory 10 stars. I was searching for a real estate agent on the REMAX website and chose Emory because he had the best credentials. He's very easy to work with, not pushy, great communication skills, honest, and trustworthy. He's everything anyone can ask for in a real estate agent. I will definitely work with him again if there is another opportunity and feel grateful we were able to close on our property successfully and smoothly with Emory.
I can't recommend Emory highly enough and would give him 6 stars if I could! Emory responded to an inquiry we submitted for a listing on the RE/MAX website and quickly became our realtor after we realized how perfect he was for us. He's very responsive and replies to our infinite calls/emails/texts within minutes. He was never pushy with any listing and was very up-front about the shortcomings of any home. Even weeks after closing escrow, he was still working for us; our water heater broke and Emory was able to arrange for a quick replacement that was paid for by the seller. Emory is generous, kind, and trustworthy. We will absolutely use him in the future and recommend him to everyone!
Great guy. Stuck with us even after we had to suspend our housing search for 3 months. Always quick to respond, was always available to show homes, and, in years, if he's still doing this realty thing, he'll be the first guy we call.
Awesome agent. A good honest human being is a rarity in the real estate business, but Emory is just that. Perfect knowledge, expertise, and responsiveness. Will certainly be using his professional services in the future for any real estate transaction.
We were set up with Emory by another agent who couldn't take us on and couldn't be happier with the results. Emory was friendly, very easy to contact, sent us lots of houses to look at, and was also very quick to look into places we had found ourselves on real estate sites. But more importantly, we felt like he was on our side throughout the whole process. He was never hesitant to give us his honest opinion of a place or neighborhood, even if it was bad. When making offers, he never pushed us to offer higher than he thought the place was worth or we were comfortable with, just to 'win' the bidding. And when we were in escrow, he helped us get as many of our contingencies accepted with the seller as we think was possible. He also made the escrow process pretty painless - we were even on vacation for part of it and things kept running smoothly without too much trouble or work on our part. We would highly recommend Emory to anyone looking for an agent!
I've dealt with many real estate agents and Emory is, by far, the best. Extremely knowledgeable about the industry and applies absolutely no pressure on you to buy any particular property. I can honestly say that Emory's only goal is his client's satisfaction and happiness. I recommend Emory to anyone I know looking to buy or sell and my recent experience with him only gives me more confidence to continue recommending him.
We bought a place recently in Santa Monica with Emory as our agent. He helped us negotiate a good price and then navigated us through the buying process. Highly recommend!
